When one illuminates on your Mitsubishi Outlander, it's your vehicle's way of communicating that something needs attention. Check Engine Light

The check engine light is probably the most common warning light we see in our service bays. This amber-colored engine symbol can indicate anything from a loose gas cap to a more serious emissions system issue. While it doesn't always mean immediate danger, we recommend scheduling a service appointment soon. Our technicians can run diagnostic tests to determine the exact cause and prevent potential damage to your Outlander's engine or emissions system.

Battery Warning Light

If you see a battery symbol illuminate while driving, this typically indicates a charging system problem rather than a dead battery. The alternator may not be charging properly, or there could be an issue with the serpentine belt. Don't ignore this light, as continuing to drive could leave you stranded. Bring your Outlander to our Service Department as soon as possible so we can test the charging system and battery and procure a replacement from our Parts Department, if necessary.

Oil Pressure Warning Light

A red oil can symbol is one of the most critical warnings your Outlander can display. Low oil pressure can cause severe engine damage in a matter of minutes. If this light appears, safely pull over immediately and turn off the engine. Check your oil level and add oil if it's low. However, even if the level appears normal, have your vehicle towed to our dealership rather than driving it across I-195, as the problem could be a failing oil pump or serious leak.

Brake System Warning Light

The brake warning light, which looks like an exclamation point inside a circle with parentheses on either side, usually means your parking brake is engaged. However, if it stays on after releasing the parking brake, you may have low brake fluid or a brake system malfunction. Since your brakes are essential to safety, we urge you to have your Outlander inspected immediately if this light remains illuminated.

Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)

The TPMS light, which resembles a tire with an exclamation point, indicates that one or more tires are significantly underinflated. Check all four tires and inflate them to the pressure listed on the driver's door jamb. If the light remains on after inflation, you may have a slow leak or a faulty sensor. Stop by our service department for a tire inspection and sensor check before scheduling your next visit to Travassos Park.

Airbag Warning Light

The airbag warning light, represented by a seated figure with a circle in front, indicates a potential problem with your Outlander's supplemental restraint system. This could involve the airbags themselves, seat belt pretensioners, or related sensors. While the vehicle is safe to drive to our Service Department, a malfunctioning airbag system means your safety features may not deploy properly in an accident. We recommend having this diagnosed promptly to ensure your airbags will protect you and your passengers when needed.

When any warning light appears, the first step is not to panic. Note which light is illuminated and whether it's red or amber. Red lights typically indicate urgent issues requiring immediate attention, while amber lights suggest you should schedule service soon. I had a lot of bad experiences with Mitsubishi when I bought my car brand new in Colorado. Problem after problem was stacking up and I wanted to get rid of the new car for any other brand...until I brought it here to my new local dealership. Fabio was amazing and kind, very personal and made me and my wife feel like friends. Fabio took care of every problem thay had mounted up and got it all done under the warranty I had been declined in CO so many times. TLDR: bring your car to Fabio. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had such a great experience at Mitsubishi Motors in New Bedford and I have to give a huge shoutout to Steve and Fabio in the service department! From the moment I walked in, both of them were so friendly, welcoming, and easy to talk to—which instantly helped ease my nerves. I was honestly hesitant to bring my car in after a disappointing experience with another Mitsubishi dealership out of state. But Steve completely went to bat for me. He took the time to make sure my repairs were fully covered under warranty, even after I was previously told they wouldn’t be by the out of state dealership. I could tell he genuinely cared and wasn’t going to let me leave without ensuring my vehicle was properly taken care of. Fabio was just as amazing. He kept me updated the entire time my car was being worked on and made sure everything that needed to be addressed was going to be taken care of. His communication was reassuring, and his kind attitude made the whole experience stress-free. Thanks to Steve and Fabio, I not only got the repairs I needed and scheduled for the next, but also left feeling supported and confident in this team. New Bedford Mitsubishi dealership came to the rescue of a friend. She had a simple oil change at D'ambra Sunco Service station. Within 2 weeks She returned to D'ambra's service station complaining of a noise from the engine area. Bob D'ambra, himself, stated he inspected the vehicle and there's nothing wrong and to run high octane fuel. The engine blew within a few weeks later and Bob D'ambra denies the any responsibility. The vehicle was sent to N.B. Mitsubishi where upon inspection, the oil filer was so loose, you could rock-it up and down. There was just over a quart of oil in the engine. Liz and Steve stepped in and worked quick and efficiently to find an engine at a reasonable price. In our opinion, Liz and Steve were kind, compassionate and the representation of what true customer service should reflect. We are very grateful to have dealt with Liz and Steve at the N.B. Mitsubishi Service and Repair department to help resolve this nightmare. This vehicle will only be serviced at N.B. Mitsubishi going forward even though my friend lives in R.I.. Honestly, quality, stand by your work, customer care and one of the best pricing is how N.B. Mitsubishi has won us over. We can not thank you enough!

Today I went down for a test drive on a 2016 Toyota RAV4. I showed up half an hour early which wasn’t a problem and was promptly greeted by Mark. He showed me the car I wanted and let me take it for a test drive. He was attentive and kind and when it came down to the paperwork and financing he made sure I was informed the entire time. I’m in the process of rebuilding my credit but the employees checked every available resource so that I could get the car I wanted. I was treated with respect and kindness the whole time I was there which was a breath of fresh air compared to my experience at the Toyota dealership this weekend. I am so incredibly pleased with the service I was provided today and will go back in the future for my next car. Everyone was so understanding and nonjudgmental, I didn’t feel as though I was being discriminated against due to my credit score. I left very happy and cannot recommend this dealership more.
